DX120 8 port VM--System has F20--PRI/DIDs. I'm trying to make it so that when a caller calls the DID--it rings 5 times--goes to VM box greeting--caller presses "0" during greeting and goes to UCD group 417, where it rings the extensions in the group, LCD says "General" --then goes to General Del MB (Ex 104)d if not picked up.

I have checked all of the programming several times--but it still does not work. It always ends up in the main greeting (either box 800 or 801) Can someone help me out. PM me. I'm forgetting something.

I put the "417" in the COS item where it asks where the "0" goes either day or nite.

I made a VM box for 417 (UCD with 10 members)

Make sure user mailbox COS has a 0 destination of 417. It sounds to me like you did this in 417 COS but not the user COS.

It was the User/Extension MB COS that I put 417 as an option (Both day & nite). What's ingteresting is that it is now not even ringing anything at all--but immediately going to 800 or 801. Before, it was ringing extension 104 (designated operator)). The defaulted option in COS is 888 if I remember correctly.

Perhaps a UCD is not a viable option. I'll check my big book to see if I can find something about that.

Did you try building this with the default ucd groups and did you give everyone an agent login/out key?

Jim:
I just picked 417 because I have 416 & 419 used as ringing groups from outside calls.

Maybe I'm not exactly understanding what you're saying. I haven't given anyone the instructions to log on or log off---they are in the group all of the time. Are you saying that they might have hit F91?? I can go to each phone and check to see if they are still logged on. Never even thought of that.

Couple of Questions:
1. How did you set up the timers in UCD group 417?

2. I assume you set the reroute destination to 433. Did you edit trans.txt?

3. Have you tried dialing 417 from one of the phones to make sure it rings the phones and reroutes correctly if unanswered?

4. If you try dialing 417 from the 800, 801 or 821 greeting, does it route correctly? (If not already programmed, set routing box to wait for digits to test this.)

I think I have to find my trans.txt notes and get my ducks in a row. I was trying to do this operation remotely with the teleparameters. I think I'll have to saddle up my pony and take a ride to the location with my laptop.

1. The only timer I set was the no answer timer--I set that to the same time as the other UCDs--16 (which is about 4/5 rings the last time I checked)

2. ReRoute is 433. I have not edited the trans.txt.

3. I have dialed "0" & "417" from the VM greeting of the phones--always goes to the main greeting of the VM.

4. No---it rings once then goes back to the main greeting.

That explains the problem.

1. The Overflow timers of the UCD control how long before call goes to the reroute destination.

2. If the trans.txt entry for UCD 417 is blank, it will go to the 800/801 greeting (depending on time of day).

easy way to get it to terminate in box 104 is to set the overflow of 417 to 104 with the re-rout to 433.

Then it will overflow to 104 and ring the length of the extension pre-defined fwd timer then go to MB 104 - if you don't want it to ring at 104 at all then set the MB for "transfer to" VM which is option 4 in MB option menu.

To finish this up...thanks to all for the comments. I think I have forgoten more than I have retained. Duh!!

Today I went to customer's site and spent time checking phones and changing the UCD programming. The programming took just a few minutes. Worked good. I just wasn't thinking right and kept doing the wrong procedure over and over---thinking that somehow I would get it right.

I also was trying to do this remotely, because I didn't want to climb up the long flight of stairs to where the equipment was. But lo & behold--I climbed those stairs 3 or 4 times this afternoon---and didn't even get winded!!

I finally got smart and found the notes that Mark had sent me years ago---took this thread and my old notes---everything work out fine. Thanks to all.
