Executech II system has 8 lines & all phones have appearance of all 8 lines. Can 2 of those lines have a second appearance in my office as single lines for use in a Polycom SoundPoint Pro while still being in the system?

Thank you so much for the reply. So, I can have a drop for 2 of those lines put into my office for use with the SoundPoint Pro but others in the office won't know those lines are in use...does this mean others will be able to pick those lines & hear the call? About 30 years ago, an "old" telephone man I knew set up a toggle switch so that my lines would busy out temporarily while I was in conference, etc. so my customers wouldn't get a ring, no answer. Is there a simple fix like this that might block those lines from the Comdial system while in use by the Polycom? Sorry if this is a silly question...just thinking it through. Thanks for your time.

I believe that this system has the ability to support "A Leads" for certain lines. If so, an A lead adapter will permit use of the Polycom unit to show in-use indication on the phones. This will also invoke privacy so that someone cannot barge into your conference call.

There is also the ability to use an analog station adapter that will allow the Polycom unit to appear as a Comdial phone when in use on any line.

We would need to know which actual Comdial system you have, not just the marking on the phones themselves. If you look at the main control unit for your system on the right side, you should find a model number that will give us what we need to assist you further.

yes they could come right into the conversation from the phone and you could use a toggle switch to send the line to the polycom or to the system.

and as Ed said....I do recall a couple of ports having the ability to use A-lead control with a couple of the Executechs...if you have it, it'll say which ports they are right on the label, on the side of key unit.

Thanks, you guys are great! I will check for the system info tomorrow & let you know. Either way, you've made me feel confident that I can use the SoundPoint Pro. Thanks, have a good night!

I assume this is a Executech II 816-824, you can hook up a-leads on the J2 block that will use lines 7 and 8

Hello All, I checked the box & cannot find any numbers other than serial#s, etc. It merely says Comdial Executech. However, I know there are over 12 exts here & 8 CO lines....so 824 probably. Also, I already have the SoundPoint from my last job but I'll keep the Soundstation in mind if my new boss wants one.Does the Soundstation Premier have a multi-line capability? If not, would it help in a conferencing situation on the present Comdial setup...where all 8 lines have individual appearances rather than being dropped in when looking for dial tone. (Not a telephone person, so phraseology probably not quite right, sorry.)

Also, is there a specific A Lead adapter to be used with our Comdial system? Where can I get them & at what cost? Thanks.
