Does anyone know how to program the DCS Compact for an external music source? The external source is connected to the MOH port on the system, but there are tones on hold instead of the music from the external source. Thanks!

I'm afraid I'm not the most telephone literate person. I work for an on-hold company and am a little familiar with the lingo. Is this something the client can do or will a phone technician need to do this? What does it involve?

It involves accessing technician programming and changing the moh parameter from tones to music source. If you are not familiar with the system then I suggest you either get a tech to come in or contact me.

So this is something that a technician will have to do - not something the client can do from their console phone. Correct? I'm just trying to figure out if a technician is needed or we can save the trip charge if it is something their receptionist can do on her phone.

Yes it can be programmed from any display telephone but not if you don't know what you are doing.

Thanks! I guess I'm just trying to avoid the trip charge for a tech to do this if it is something their receptionist can do from her console phone. If it just a series of key strokes, would I be able to find that info in their manual?

No its not in a user manual, its in the technician manual. You do not need a misc2 card unless you want to add a second moh source and/or caller id.
