Our voicemail stops answering about once a month and we have to reset to get it back online.
Any ideas as t0 what causes this?

We have had that happen to a couple of sites and all were power related. A good UPS solved all sites. This would be a place to start.

Is it a hard drive driven voicemail or flash voicemail?

This is the hard drive based version and it has been on a UPS since it was installed.

That probably means the harddrive is going out.

If it is already on a UPS then I have to agree on the hard drive going bad. Don't wait too long!

Don't rush to replace that hard drive!!! I had similar problems with the same config. Check the version on the svmi-8e. Samsung had a problem with the svmi freezing up due to ipc messaging on one of the versions. I beleive it was 4.1 version 1 but don't hold me to that. You may just need to upgrade the voicemail. Also as a side note I have seen svmi's where by default it is set to reboot on system maintenance the first day of each month where it doesn't come up after the reboot. You could try changing it to not reboot after system maintenance to see if that fixes the problem.

I talked with Samsung today and they mentioned to check the reboot on maintenance and it is set to reset monthly (1st day). Also, they said the next time it happens reset the the SVMI and see if it comes back, instead of resetting the whole phone system to bring it back.

They mentioned all the issues that exist with the voicemail at the roadshow. I will look into a patch or something. The thing is not in advance replacement status any longer. So, shipping it to them and being down maybe be an option.
