We have a Samsung DCS system with Voicetrak voicemail. We are switching over to AA for all incoming calls. One executive (ext 207) does not want people to call his extension from the outside, but would like people to dial him from inside the company. He is not in the dial by name directory, but does want voicemail to arrive to box 207. His secretary (ext 210) includes both her name AND his name in her voice greeting, letting people in the dial by name directory to go to 210 for the exec. This satisfies the exec as his calls are routed to 210. But, if the secretary is not at her desk, his voicemail goes to box 210, not 207 which he wants. A No Answer Forward to the receptionist (225) might work, but if she doesn't answer, then the voicemail goes to 225, and so on and so on. He also has a private line going to his extension, so DND is not an option as it would not ring on those and intercom calls as well.
The easiest way to do this is if the secretary's voicemail could have a "Press 1 to leave message for exec" and "Press 2 to leave message for secretary" but I don't know how to do that, if it is even possible.
If there are any other solutions, or if I need to clarify, please let me know.

Record: For "Mr. Fancy big shot", dial 207, to leave a message for "Ms. Secretary" leave a message at the tone. (It does give away his extension number)
Or, go in the VoiceTrak voicemail (which I have never even seen" and in the 210 voicemail box, make 0 chain to 207.
Call VoiceTrak if you need support I would guess.

I also don't know the Voicetrack but maybe it can do this.I have seen this on other voicemails. Can you put ext.207 mailbox in a DND mode? That would mean that callers wouldn't be transferred to his extension they would go into his mailbox.Means no live answers of those callers though.
Second option maybe give the exec a second mailbox (say 307) tied into the dial by name directory but assign it to extension 210 so it would ring 210 when called. If no answer the caller leaves a message in mailbox 307 which then auto forwards the message to mailbox 207.

It seems a combination of answers will work.
pvj, DND is not an option as he would like to live answer his private line attached to his ext or any interoffice calls. I have setup a second mailbox (240) with 207 as the sponsor or forward to box. I set the ext to 210, but it fails to ring 210; even if 210 is idle, it rings straight to 240 VM. We do, however, want a live person option in this process.
Bunnie, I have the announced name on 210 saying "(Exec name) and (secretary)" and the recorded message for 210 "To leave a message for (exec) please dial 240 now. To leave a message for (sec) please wait for the tone." Ext 210 has DBN aliases of exec's first and last name.
Therefore, caller uses DBN, enters exec name, it rings 210 (sec). If there, she picks up, routes appropriately. If not there, kicks to 210 voicemail which gives callers audible option of 240 for exec or wait and get 210 (Bunnie, all rights reserved). If 240 is keyed in by caller, it goes to 240 which then forwards to 207 (pvj, all rights reserved).
Whew! Thank you everyone for your continued assistance!

If this works, I want a gold star. (A paper one, in virtual cyberspace, not a real gold gold star.)
AA answers the call and the executive hunter dials (7) for the executive. (7) goes to group (505) of which 210 is the only member and it overflows a couple seconds before the time set for No Answer at the secretary's 210 mailbox.
Overflow rings to real phone 240 which is in DND mode and goes to mailbox 240 which forwards (as I understand you about the Voicetrak) to mailbox 210. Mr. Execs phone rings on the DID and you get to be the smart fella on campus.
Now, what if you wanted it to go the secretary and then to the receptionist and then to the voicemail?
Not possible, right? Wrong oh great Carnac.
For the sake of this explanation, 7 goes to group 505 of which only 210 is a member and group 506 has the receptionist as a member.
AA answers, caller dials 7, call rings at 210, group 505, for 2 seconds less than the CFNA, call rings to group 506, receptionist, then overflows to real phone 240 set in DND mode to mailbox 240 which then by some mystery in the Voicetrak goes to mailbox 210 and says: Hi, this is Mr. Big Shot exec. and thanks to THE Bunnie you can leave a message in my voicemail because neither my secretary nor my receptionist could get to your call and I only answer my DID calls, so leave a message and I will get back to you if I choose.
Two minutes programming, one minute testing.
Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. What have you got to lose?
Thanks, Bunnie
PS One of my former jobs was to analyize foreign communications and determine (guess) if some of our Americans were in danger or not and if they should be warned to get the hell out of there NOW or not. I was 19 at the time. I didn't make much but it trained me to analyize (but not to spel goode.)

While I do have tech level access, I do not know:
1. How to setup the 7 option in AA first greeting to jump to group 505 2. What the CFNA is 3. What DID stands for
I completely understand the premise and know how to set overflow times.
He's happy with the system right now, but if I could add things to the AA greeting menu, that would be pretty sweet.

The 7 was just an example, it could be 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, etc. (just to be clear.)

wrichey, 723 is the system key programming ... I guess if we are keeping the system any longer than 6 months, I really should buy a tech manual for it.
