Im a little pissed at myself for not knowing this one.

The customer has account codes from the C.O. for long distance. They also want a mailbox that notifies a cell phone after hours. The cell phone number will change and sometimes it is a long distance number. So I need to dial the account code in there somewhere. The CO asks for the code approximately 3 seconds after the dialing is completed. I setup in LCR so that when the SVMi ports dial out that they use a modify digit which appends with PPPPPPPP900 (the account code is 900). This doesnt work, I listened to the line with my buttset and the P's clearly dont make a difference in the dialing. It doesnt allow comma's in the dial string there.

So I tried setting an appending string in the "off-premise" station block on the SVMi. There I tried commas and P's with no success.

In both cases I can hear that it's dialing the 900 but regardless of how many P's or commas I enter It doesnt change the delay.

I looked for any kind of timer either on the SVM side or the system side to delay the appending digits, however didnt find anything on either side. Someone must have thought of this scenario before and built some kind of delay into the system.

Am I using the wrong digit for pauses or something here?

try a w in the string but the commas should work even with lcr when you set the off premis string

also did you set the box to use the off premmis string or is it still using the beeper string?

I can't say I've seen a problem with pauses in the svmi. A comma = 1 sec and a \ = 3 seconds. Try a couple of \\ in the suffix of the off premise dial string. Also try setting the extension for a partially screened transfer (I don't know why but this some times will get it to work when other stuff isn't working). You can also turn on the IPC monitor in port activity to give you even a more detailed description of what the voicemial is doing. And if call progress isn't on turn that on too.
