I have installed a samsung ds616 w/5 phones at a customer site with only 1 incoming line,at the customers request. After the install, she tells me she has call waiting caller id, which does not show on the phones. Call Samsung and it does not have in the system, try to make her happy by installing a stand alone cid box w call waiting id(like to never found one)hook it to the incoming line, install a second jack in her office, come out of the ext jack on the cid unit back to the line 1 in on phone system, the only way the box would show call waiting,Whenever somebody beeps in it cuts off the original caller, any ideas, can i change some settings on system to keep it from cutting off or what?

It sounds to me like you are talking about visual call waiting.I think if you get a phone that has that feature and hook it up before the system you would be able to do what is being asked.Was the caller id box you hooked up a normal caller id box or was it visual call waiting? If they had the feature before and they still have one of their phones hook it back up instead of the caller id box. I may be wrong but I don't know of a phone system that can do this.

I think PVJ is right. I've never seen a phone system that could do that either.

i know the system cant do it i heard that from samsung, the problem is the click i get when the box recieves call waiting caller id, is there a setting on the swamsung to let it make it past the click?
