Does anyone know of a way to send an SMDR report from the lan port on the 7200 to a serial port on a PMS system? This needs to be a real-time connection. I can think of a way to dump it to a text file and upload it with a batch file from another pc but that won't work. Banging my head against a wall here. :bang:
WHY WOULDN'T YOU PUT A SERIAL PORT ON THE 7000 series?
Never mind this post. I was able to integrate with IP.

The Misc card does not list any serial ports. This is another case of marketing DIRECTLY to the IT person. I will do some checking today.

Thanks but I found a way to do it with IP. I knew we did't have any serial ports. I called InnQuest tech support and they can accept it with IP as long as I give them the port number. I found those in the manual.

I was concerned as well since I have a 7200 that might need SMDR. I am checking with the software vendor now about a lan connection. I think most of the call accounting vendors are using lan connections.

Better test it. I am not able to get this one to connect even to a terminal session.

I use officewatch call accounting for our systems. I used it well before the 7200 and it was a plus that it was already IP capable. Though that said I have an install comming up with a 7200 and the company wants to use their existing call accounting which only accepts serial. I went online and found an IP to serial converter. I haven't tested it yet but I was assured by the engineers of this box that it would do the trick.

Will do when I get back to my office. Prob. won't get back there till late tommorow. I'll post it here. I'd wait though since I haven't had a chance to hook it up to my 7200 for testing yet. I do have the device in hand though on my desk.
