For the life of me I can not find Info on when the RED LED on a Starmail Blinks, or what condition that points to. I know I read about it somewhere, (not the manual tho')
The VM is installed in a closet (heat) and started locking up, RNA. It would work after turning off for awhile - comes back up with solid power led, running fine. Then it wouldn't come up at all. I replaced the Transformer (grasping at straws?) Lo and Behold it worked for a month.
But the problem is back, and like my original suspicion......isn't that indicative of the Main Board? Not likely Hard Drive or Station Port card. (14.1 software, DCS-C, analogue cards) Propbably not the Transformer either.
Please, someones experience.... THANKS

You are looking at a hard drive issue. Normally, when it boots up you should get a solid light, if it is flashing, your hard drive is gone, or on it way out. One suggestion is to remove and re-install the ribbon cable on the hard drive, and on the main board. Good Luck

Thank You Gentlemen !!
Troubleshooting: I was about to replace the Box First, with Port cards (who wants to reprogram or hear complaints about lost messages.) Tne Drive would have been last.
You really saved me a LOT of hassle. God Bless our Brothers (& sisters) in these Forums.
I may try and back up the drive, never done that before, but the manual is pretty straight forward.
Ribbon Cable? I thought, "HUH ?" But what do I know. Further thought....is this a contamination scenario? The Pins/Contacts corrode just enough to send a borderline Drive over the edge, Power and I/O ? That would make sense.
I will go the drive route, tho' No Call Backs.
