I hope someone can help me here. I am looking for an analog device similar to a door phone. All i want is a handheld analog device with a long line/spring cord that will reach to the side of an patient bed. I would prefer only one button operation that i can cross connect to an analog port and hot line it to a station group. I have checked on the Igeacare products and they seem a little much for as simple as this application needs to be.Please post the link if anybody has something in mind or may have used something before. The only reason for posting in here is that it will be connected to a iDCS 500.This is not a full blown medical facility so I dont think I have any codes to stay within.

Merritt: Isn't that resistor in line with the nurse call switch?

I have done similar with a fire alarm panel in a local hoiday resort. It had dry contacts, 600 ohm resitor in series with the contacts straight onto an analogue extension hotlined to a group. Made a group called FIRE and put all the admin phones in it. If the alarm tripped it calls all the admin phones.
Should be noted this was only for internal notification so all staff were aware without loud bells or sirens going off and anoying all the guests (fire alarms still went off in the section the alarm was generated), the alarm panel was already linked to the local fire service.

Yes Ed that should have been wrote in line not across as it should be in series with the switch to put a 600 ohm load on the port. I use a DPDT switch so I add the resistor across one side of the switch using the common and NC contact. One wire fron KSU goes to NC terminal the other to the to NO terminal. The second set of contacts run the call placed lights.
