Apparently when the Svmi20e was developed someone thought it would be cool to shut down system only with a "special" custom cable connected to the SIO port. Don't need this for the 4e,8e,16e. Anyone know where to buy this cable or have a part number?

Its the same as a cisco console cable, the manual has the pin outs if you want to make your own head shell.
The cable required for the other vm's wasn't exactly a standard serial cable either (female connectors at both ends)
Shutting down all VM's requires the serial cable, as for some reason the telnet server is built into the vm rather then a seperate driver

They are cheap on Ebay - the light blue DB9 to 8-pin mod plug cable. We bought a ton of them and leave them at every job.

Could also buy a DB9 female - RJ45 head shell that you put the pins in you need, and then put a cat5 lead into the other end.

Noisycow, I think you left one at my last job. Found one in the telco closet. Thanks!
