I have many ProStar 816 customers who don't want to migrate to newer systems. Their memory batteries are starting to go bad after all these years.

Who's the best source for these? Thanks.

Mike Sandman has just about all of them, but he's not cheap. www.sandman.com

Refurb Supplies also has them and many other parts for fixing phones.

This is not to say anything bad about Mike Sandman who is wonderful, just give you another source for parts.

Take a Lithium CR123 battery in an inline case w/wires, or just solder wires onto the battery, and then set/secure with duct tape the battery to the bottom of the KSU case. Solder the wires up to the old battery contacts.

The 123 will last a lifetime.

It looks like hell, but it is cheap; any 3v lithium will do. I mean, what is an 816 worth these days - zip - so no one wants to put money into one.

The 816 doesn't use a super cap, it uses a non-recharging 3v battery.

Interesting as the KSU's we get have a super cap.

Its only the RAM packs for the compact and MISC2 for the compact II that use batteries here.
