Hello,
i have an issue where i am using the samsung SMT-i3100 IP handsets and need them to use SIP traffic to enable us to connect a voice logger and record the calls.
i have heard that a firmware update can be done to change the handsets to use SIP.
is this true?
please can someone point me in the right direction here. pulling my hair out....

You are right but I dont think the firmware is available yet (certainly in the UK anyway).
I believe a date for launch was given but this has passed due to software issues.
Cant you connect a call recorder across the trunks to record call, or do you want to record internal call?

Use the logger on the MP/MGI/OAS ports via a managed switch with a mirror port.
Though ive been told that there is something different about the RTP packets in the samsung that some voice recorders may have issues with.

The Sip software is out but i have only used it with the Ubigate so far and not a Officeserv. But if you did use the SIp software and it works im gussing you would then need A sip license for each of the phones and using all Sip phones on a officeserv would limit the config on the system.
