It wasn't my intention to disparage any cable mfg by my comments. I have revised them in order to avoid any misunderstandings. I can see how the way I phrased my comments could have been construed that way and I apologize to the forum readers.
If you are looking to support 1000Base-T then it is always advisable, IMO, to use enhanced CAT-5E cable. This is usually identified as "350MHz" or "400 MHz" cable as with Mohawk's "MegaLAN 400."
I don't like "minimum compliant" anything. I wouldn't even want "minimum compliant concrete" to be used for my backyard patio. I like quality materials with a little room over "minimum acceptable standards" built into it in order to ensure long term performance and reliability.
