I called this vendor for you and got the specifics. The PN I got was the MS2-100 and he has it for $425.00. The last one I ordered came on a little case with the different tone adapters. It also does coax which may help you on other projects.

I know this is an old topic, but I'll chime in.
I carry my yellow Model 77 toner (ok, it was grey and burgundy, now its grey and blue) in a large cell phone case from Lowes. There's enough room at the bottom of the pouch for a few adapters.
I have both a jack and plug terminated with a few inches of cable fanned out. If I can't tone out on the w/bl pair with the 77's modular jack, I'll clip lead to the w/br pair. If that doesn't work, I'll short the w/br pairs together and clip on a ground.
I also have a second cell phone case with a plastic bag of hardware - screws, beanies, UGs, bridge clips, etc.

i use Fluke's IntelliTone 200 for these jobs; they run $172.87 from my distributor. however, the MicroScanner 2 is also very nice and runs $410.67 from the same source.

Toning cat5/6/7 cable works best when you connect the toner to conductors on two different pairs. Say, white/blue and white/brown. Otherwise, the tight twists do a very good job of preventing the tone from "leaking" out of the cable...as they were intended to do.

Just messin with ya. ---- I know it's an old topic, but I love my Linkmaster Pro tester kit from Ideal. https://www.idealindustries.com/prodDetail.do?prodId=33-826 I have used this thing for years, with no problems what so ever. I will put my stamp of approval on this tool any day! You can select a single wire or any combination/pairs of wires too, to put tone on.

I keep seeing it referred to as Cat7, even though that isn't correct (like RJ45 connectors)

I am the only one is the office that uses "8P8C"... heck, even ur Graybar rep is used to the other guys ordering "RJ45" ends and double checks with me, when I give the part number.

I have the digital Fluke toner. It works on live networks like it says it will. But the tone is so strong it takes some time to find the exact cable you're looking for. Will get you out of a jam though.

Microscanner vs LanRunner
Seems I get a sence the Microscanner is very good at helping the tech find the other end of a cable that is not marked. I tried using my simple fluke tonner on cat5e and it was worthless. As some one said the tight twist are designed to keep the signal within the cable. But it would also be nice to see which port from the remote end what the wall jack is hooked to. I do alot of switch change outs and cable upgrades. It would be nice to reduce the foot travel to and from the switch and remote ends with these tools. We have the Lanrunner but would the Lan runner do the same things as the microscanner?
I currently use the Test-um TP500. Great little tool and helps to see the bright LEDs light up. Was going to buy another one today. One of mine got toasted when the other end was plugged into a remote jack and the POE switch side was not unplugged by the other tech.
The second one has some pin issues so will combine all three remote ends If I buy a third TP-500.
Or just buy the microscanner.
Thanks
