Cables terminated in patch panel, need 1 pair for digital phone, 1 pair for CC machine. Simple enough if terminated on 66 block. Want to use splitters at each end but they will not physically fit in patch panel because of patch cords plugged into jacks next to one I want to use. Anyone make a splitter with a short tail on it?

Just get a female to female spliter and put a short line cord on it, or make a short cord. About the eleventh one down on this page you can probably pick them up locally too.

You could also take some jumper wire, mod ends, and keystones and make one. I've done that myself.

If you have a Lowes in your area, they have them also. In the the low voltage section where the face plates, ect. is.

no doubt , actually I'm not to fond of splitters, couplers and the like either

what I have done on similar situations is to use a line cord to a biscuit jack then split the lines there to 66 block or to the station cable everything secured and professional looking

No, because it's a fact! Use to do that as well. Doesn't pat as there ended up being too many go-backs, which of course does not pay in the end.
