I don't know how he is going to do long distance... nor do I care! He wants me to get the phones working so that is what I'll do. I think it might be the connectors. They are the old type so water probably got into the splice and corroded the wires. I forgot my butt set so I couldn't troubleshoot when I was there but I think that is it. I'm not going to like it if I need to replace the wire. They re-painted the place a few times and all of the phone wires are painted together. The only way I can think of separating the cables is by slicing the paint with a razor. Any other ideas?

I installed one of those 2500 sets in a school where thief was a problem. I enlarged one of the holes in the bottom of the telephone drilled a hole through the desk. I used a spring loaded troggle bolt, through the desk into the bottom on the telephone. I then tightened the screw under the desk and the telephone was fixed in place. If the telephone quite loosen the screw until the spring toogle wings came off and there. Hope that this made sence.
