Just wondering if I should include this to my network installs. Wireless is not new to me. I have been a ham since 92 in us and now, a canadian ham.I hae built a few antennas. But I have not marketed any wiress capabilities. I would like to get proxim wirless cirtification but from my understanding, you have to pay for it?

Lastly, the antennas siting on the desk on this thread, do thay put out more power then a traditional desktop wifi router?

We do a good amount of wifi installation and troubleshooting. Dont see why you shouldnt do it as long as you educate yourself and do good work. We certainly dont need more people out there installing things that they dont know anything about. We have plenty of those now. frown

I'd reccomend starting with some vendor neutral training to get your wireless skills up to speed. https://www.cwnp.com/index/

As far as the amount of power a piece of equipment puts out it would depend on the model. Certain pieces are more powerful than others.

tito1411, are you saying there are many ill experienced wifi techs that just do not know what they are doing? ie, proper site survey, and proper equipment installs to really flub things up?

BTW looking at this site, looks like may have to fork out some $$ to get upgrade training. How long did it take you to study the material and eventually pass the exam? How thick are the books? Does the books have a great set of questions to study and prep for? Does the telecom and network industry recognize this certification?
