Now, that everyone else has put in their two cents, let me add to it. First of all, the Xblue product can run on daisy chaing, and if you don't do that, there is a 600 foot limitation on each leg. Not a problem if you truly have less than 100 feet per run, but be aware that it could be an issue.

2. Innded they are PHONES, not handsets. The last customer who asked for a price on another handset got told it was $15 for the handset and another $165 for the phone it sat on :-)

3. If you're truly from Chicago, be aware that ther are union restrictions on even DIY'ers regarding running low voltage wiring. It's been 15 years since I pulled a Chicago NEC book, so things may be different, but it can't hurt to check.

As the others have stated, it's probably best to hire someone, 4 cables, or at least 3 per location is best, and you would be better off terminating your voice cables on 66 blocks, because if you use the Xblue box, you'll be daisy chaining the drops at the block.

I would add a TON of building are closed. Meaning you have to use that contractor for your cabling. Make sure to check with the office first.

Huh?

What "TON of building" are closed?

What contractor?

What office?

I've seen that here in Denver as well.

Any client moving into a building managed by a particular property management group has their own low voltage, electricians, plumbers etc... Tenant signs as part of their lease that all work is to be performed by the property management group or it's vendors, no outside vendors at all.

We'll install the equipment, but they do ALL the cable work. Feeds, data, voice, risers etc...

So Coral, is it still the good ol' boys club and LV has to be in conduit? Does the electrician have to pull a permit for the LV guy?

I'm gonna agree with the others and say this is not a DIY job...hire a contractor and see if you can help out.
