Have been programming an IDS / EVX using an old 386 PC using Procomm + and the settings described in an earlier buletin board response to jpnearl. The system is running Eclipse 3.0 software.
The IDS side programs perfectly, but after selecting 3 and entering the EVX side things get interesting.
The EVX programs OK but have found that I need to refresh (F11) alot as screens come up "off" - missing lines, cursor in wrong spot, Remnants of previous screen remain, etc.
Is usually just inconvenient unless I don't notice that a line is missing, make a change and save it only to find I changed the wrong entry due to the missing line.
Have been told by a support technician that this is not unusual, normal actually. Can this really be true?

Laptop connected to RS232 port on IDS: A laptop PC, running Procomm ® Plus 2 (or higher) for Windows, can be connected to the ECLIPSE enabled system to emulate an IOT for programming purposes. The following Procomm Plus 2 (or higher) settings must be used to program the EVX system: - TVI925 terminal emulation - Xmodem protocol - Software Flow Control (Port settings) - 9600 baud rate - 25 rows (set in the Terminal Size field of the Terminal Options screen). Select Setup and then Setup again to access. Due to special keyboard key assignments used by Procomm, the second page of the EVX On-Line Programming Menu must be accessed by pressing R (for Reports) and then pressing ESC.
Laptop PC Connection to the EVX: The following Procomm settings must be used when using a PC to program the INFOSTAR/EVX system: - TVI925 terminal emulation, - Xmodem protocol, - Software Flow Control (Port settings) - 9600 baud rate; 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, - Terminal Options - 25 rows, 80 columns; Set (checked): Keep cursor in view; Line wrap; Block cursor; Disable host printing. Not Set (unchecked): Screen scroll; Strip bit 8.
