Have a customer with an IVX-S Class phone system. They have DSL on one of the CO lines used by the phone system. Installed one of the supplied DSL filters in front of the phone system and made very little impact on filtering out the DSL signal. Ended up installing FOUR filters in line with each other to finally get the DSL noise reduced enough so that it was difficult to notice. I know there are after market filters available, but don't know if they would perform much better. I'm assuming the ESI amplifies the incoming telephone signal and that's why I've gotta install so many filters on the CO line. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and what they did to resolve it.

If you connect a test set to the DSL line after one filter, do you still get static? If not, then yes, maybe you can try to turn down the line receive volume. If you do have static with just the test set after the filter then its either a bad filter or you might want to have your LEC install a filter at the D-marc.
I have one system installed that actually has DSL service on the main number. It is also in hunt. No static but they have problems with CO disconnect.
DSL line into a system IMO, should work fine. Now having DSL in a hunt group is a no, no. Most providers wont even provision such a thing. In this instance they did.

Pants, Are you using a in-line filter or a Splitter Interface (looks like a wall jack)?
Sydeshow, I was told you could have DSL on the last member in a hunt group (linear). What is the reasoning for no dsl in a hunt group?

Try this test: Take the average plug in type filter, you know the one that has a 4 pin mod on one end and 2 female mod prts on the other. Connect buttset to DSL port and go off hook to listen for data traffic. Next connect buttset to phone port of filter, go off hook and listen. You should have good clean DT. If the DT is clean deliver it to the system and deliver DSL to the modem. Warning: If there is any jack locations or funky wiring anywhere that can deliver the DSL signal back over into one of the pairs used for the phone line you'll have a problem. These things can happen inside of a wall jack especially if this location may have been an original daisy chain install.

have you tried a dsl splitter right at the nid? It wil give you a good test point for just the pots side of the ckt. as well as let you run a homerun to the dsl side.
I Swear I did not touch anything

Well said anthonyh, I guess I tend to ramble on sometimes. It is the DSL homerun that I feel is important to keep seperated after the filter.

We just fought one of those funky wiring issues on a C-Class, noise on the line after the DSL filter, come to find out the alarm guy was using that line too for something or another and looped it all over hell. Put the filter ahead of his work and the noise went away.
Like previously mentioned, make sure the filter is where you know it's close to the NID and ahead of any creative wiring.
