We are going to be installing and ESI 100 on a Church Campus. We are going to have 3 buildings to connect. Going to have about 15 ext's total, 5 digital and 10 local IP. We are running fiber for the building connections and wanted to not use copper being in Sebring, Florida (as I was informed earlier The Lightning Capitol of the US hahahaha)I was wondering if anyone has encountered the use of presence manamgement over such a network?

Wow took a while to get that out

Doesn't Presence Management connect to the station port? If so, how will you be converting from fiber to copper and copper to fiber, and power the station, etc?

That's what I was thinking...

I don't know of an IP RFID Reader

I was thinking the dame thing, when I think campus fiber I think IP stations on the other end. We have mentioned IP Presence Management readers to ESI over te past two years for this situation, also when you install a pure IP switch, you still need digital ports for readers.

So... Like previously mentioned, unless there is a simple pair to pair conversion from copper to fiber and back, I don't know of another solution.

That is what I was thinking, looks like I will have to run as little copper pairs as possible and give it the necessary protection. Just thought I would ask, thanks for the replies

If you're just looking for doorphone capability on the LAN, Valcom has a SIP doorphone https://voip.valcom.com/products/ip_intercomdoorphones.htm
You might need their gateway as well.

I expect the ESI's SIP support will be out of beta soon. Or you could sign up for the beta test.
