When I select function 3, it goes to programming the extensions and stations. Do you know how I can change the actual soft keys to assign it to a specific outgoing phone line?

If you are just looking to add a line key on a phone to an already attached and active line on the ESI system....
Go to the phone and hold down the key you want to program for 3 seconds, it will go into program mode. Type in the number of the CO line that you want to appear on that button (1,2,3,etc..) then hit the key again.
