make sure you have you IRQ hard set and not set to auto in your bios. you can check to see if your pots card is shareing irqs by using the fallowing command. cat /proc/interrupts
take a look and see if the pots card is shareing irq's that can cause weird issues.

oh yea make sure u turn off any unused devices. usb/serials/sound
