This is why orders get screwed up so easy. This is all data entry and usually the person doing the input has no circuit knowledge. In the NCI codes is the wiring info, levels and line conditioning, if any of those are wrong for the service you've ordered, it won't work at all, or it won't work right. Just think of all the hands these orders go through. One of our biggest nightmares was the order that goes through and "Billy Bob" makes it right without correcting the order, now what do you suppose happens the first time there is a case of trouble on the circuit? It's not as easy as it may seem to get all this stuff right.

There are so many chances for billing mistakes within the LEC order entry. We've built a business on resolving disputes and cleaning up telecom billing errors. These Reps do the best job they can do but sometimes it is out of their hands. They don't have time to make it their job to go through every client's bill to determine if their circuits are billing accurately or to determine whether they still have the circuits. So many variables and so little time.

I think it's funny that this post told me what type of circuit my AQDU circuit was, but the Verizon techs didn't know.

I have searched many many sites to no avail. I'm looking for a comprehensive listing of USOC codes found on CSR's here in Indiana. If the carrier is important to know to obtain these codes, please send me a message and I will reply...I can tell you that they are a major carrier and recently purchased SBC..(again)(ha,ha,ha)

If you’re seeing CSR’s and need to know the meaning of USOC’s… Hum, I’m taking a guess you’re on the inside looking out… If that’s the case, and you are now employed buy the rotating alphabet company… My advice is, “Take a look within young grasshopper.” ‘Cause they’re on your Intranet! ;-)

BTW… USOC’s are getting to be a thing of the past. NC/NCI codes once reserved for ONLY Access Services (circuits carried by IXC’s) are now being used for Non-access orders (within one LATA) too. I have not seen a printed comprehensive copy of USOC’s in a long time… You sure that’s what you need? :scratch:

Yep, all that stuff is on the Intranet as Bryan stated, just wish I'd printed them off before I retired (at least the NCI codes). That way I could show the LEC on their own order their wrong. laugh You'd be surprise how many don't know what those codes mean. I remember all the time being asked what level was suppose to be received, and it's right on the order, if you knew where to look.

I'm actually a customer, and not an employee of this company. Although, I wish I were an employee, that way I could get the info since they(the company) are not willing to help me.

So with this scenario - any ideas on where to find it?
