BTW -

to give more info - I'm looking for info on business billing and not residential, although I don't know if there is much of a difference when codes come into play.

As far as what Bryan asked, I'm not sure the USOC is completely what I require. I would also like to understand how to read a CSR (you all can quickly conclude that I'm doing an internal audit here for my own good).

any idea on how to go about this without paying big money for some corp. to come in here and explain it to me? Is this data available or is it illegal to dissimenate? It seems as if this subject (among telco providers) is very tight lipped. mmmmmm..

Ohhh… Good gravy man… eek Now I understand what you’re after <sigh> GOOD LUCK! wink Dependant on the number and size of services you have that could be a monumental task! If you look around the technical forums on this site you often see the experts suggest seeking the help of a trained professional… I’ll suggest the same for your billing quest! Go ahead a bite the bullet and seek the help of a professional telecomm auditor.

If you decide to tackle this one yourself… I’ll share what little I know about billing and USOC’s that may help at least in you search.

USOC (Universal Service Order Codes) guides are LEC specific. There IS commonality between companies but you need to make sure you have one for “the alphabet soup company.” The guides are ALSO region specific! Being in the Hoosier state, you’ll also need to make sure you seeking a USOC guide for the former Ameritech states. I did a little World Wide Web searching myself with no luck… There has GOT to be a way, somehow, to locate one but unfortunately I don’t have more directions to give ya on that. frown

Once you have a USOC guide in hand… The USOC explanations can be a bit tough to interpret too. The USOC’s you see on the CSR will also, ummmm… “interact with each other” (not sure how else to put that.) Meaning in some cases you can’t just take one for face value of the explanation, they factor together…. Sometimes.

And for your last comment… I’m not so sure the LEC’s are intentionally being “tight lipped” on these. My opinion is, there’s just so much information (guides usually contain ‘round 10,000 USOC’s) and soooooo much a bigger picture to the pure information, it’s almost useless information by itself.

GOOD find on that site… clap Looks a LOT like the Intranet site I had access to when I was employed with that three letter company.

Does it make me any kind of, um, nerdish to be excited to have this???? shocked Now I just need some USOC’s to try it out! (maybe a vacation is in order.)
eek wink

For an ARDU circuit, does anyone know what specifications come along with it? Does it allow a company to force Vz to remove Load Coils or bridge taps, or repair things like impedance mismatches and such?

ColloGuy, Welcome to the board. Please start a new topic, the one you've attaced to is nearly 4 years old. It also helps when folks search the board for answers. Thanks
