Ohhh… Good gravy man…
Now I understand what you’re after <sigh> GOOD LUCK!
Dependant on the number and size of services you have that could be a monumental task! If you look around the technical forums on this site you often see the experts suggest seeking the help of a trained professional… I’ll suggest the same for your billing quest! Go ahead a bite the bullet and seek the help of a professional telecomm auditor.
If you decide to tackle this one yourself… I’ll share what little I know about billing and USOC’s that may help at least in you search.
USOC (Universal Service Order Codes) guides are LEC specific. There IS commonality between companies but you need to make sure you have one for “the alphabet soup company.† The guides are ALSO region specific! Being in the Hoosier state, you’ll also need to make sure you seeking a USOC guide for the former Ameritech states. I did a little World Wide Web searching myself with no luck… There has GOT to be a way, somehow, to locate one but unfortunately I don’t have more directions to give ya on that.
Once you have a USOC guide in hand… The USOC explanations can be a bit tough to interpret too. The USOC’s you see on the CSR will also, ummmm… “interact with each other†(not sure how else to put that.) Meaning in some cases you can’t just take one for face value of the explanation, they factor together…. Sometimes.
And for your last comment… I’m not so sure the LEC’s are intentionally being “tight lipped†on these. My opinion is, there’s just so much information (guides usually contain ‘round 10,000 USOC’s) and soooooo much a bigger picture to the pure information, it’s almost useless information by itself.
