Any ideas on how to clear up waving lines and distortions on cameras? They were fine and over time got really bad. I've re-terminated, re-stripped, and re-connected all of the cabling. I've checked the power connections, I've gone through just short of replacing the camera.

Cheap $120 color domes, on a GeoVision GV-800 on a brand new Lenovo tower.

do they all run from a common power supply try a new power supply on one camera and see if that helps

Probably not, but maybe it's RF interference.

Topher ,I would summize that Merrit is right,All the cameras and DVR need to be on a commun power source, this has been my most common reason for camera distortion and blue screens.

The Surveillance Computer, cameras, and peripherals are sharing the same surge protection unit. There are 9 cameras on a Distributed Power Supply, and I believe 4 others are on 12v DC Power Adapters. (Not by my install). Customer doesn't want to spend more money to upgrade power supplies. Unfortunately, the problems cameras are on the DPS not the Adapters.

Also, there used to be a radio station 50-100 feet from the facility. The building and tower still stand, I can only assume that the tower is still in use, as the radio stations never went down, they are still broadcasting.

I haven't tried any RF Interference devices, but the paging system and phone system I installed aren't having issues.

For $5.29 a piece... I'd say it's worth trying one out.

If it doesn't work, then you're not hurting too bad, besides... the gas to get there and back, will probably be more! wink

Good luck and keep us updated.

Just an update to help clarify.

I worked on the system again. I blew out the terminations, fixed the connectors on the cameras, and all was well and working fine. Two minutes later, distortions and waves take over and you can't tell who's standing in front of the camera it's so bad. Go and fix the terminations again, everything's fine. Gets bad again.

I've tried to replace the camera too, same situation.

Also- all of the other domes are just fine. There are 13 total cameras, 3 are having this problem.

Could it be a bad port on the card? I don't know much about PC based DVR's...
