I have to repair a WYSE 50 fire alarm monitor which displays the location and status of alarms. The wires were cut and the 8 pin adapter lost. The repairman before me used individual connectors for the wires in place of the 8 pin adapter and it works -sort of. The header works, showing the Line on the top of the screen, but there is no data flow so the alarm updates don't show. Nothing else shows at all. There are currently two wires going into the back of the monitor and an AC power plug. The tech insists the unit is fried and that there should only be two wires connected plus the AC power plugged in for the monitor to work, but I believe it is a 4 wire circuit. Is anyone familiar with this? Can you email me the pinout? Thanks !

The Wyse 50 is a generic 'dumb' ASCII terminal, vintage late 90's/early 2K. You can download a maintenance manual for the unit, in four parts, by visiting this link. https://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/7914/Wyse_WY-50.html Note that you will need the WinRAR archiver to unpack this. Download all four parts, then use WinRAR to open the file ending in .rar. It should, assuming you've got all the parts in the same directory, automatically unpack everything. Happy tweaking.
