You must love your mother a whole big heaping lot to work on 1A2 or Intertel for her benefit. Bless you.
I would just get her a single line port off the Intertel and a phone with pictures of the grandchildren on the buttons.

Actually I do, my parent's home was damaged by hurricane Wilma and until we fix it she's going to be here. I don't have the money to pay someone to fix the roof so I am doing it myself in my free time. Already got the hole fixed and the tree mostly cut up, but there's plastering to do, rugs to replace and mold to fight. In the meantime I was getting an earache about having only rotary phones, thus I gave here an intertel keyset in her room, living room and kitchen. I have been looking for an expension board for this GLX to add a single line port but that's totally impossible to find! As for grandchildren, there aren't any as I am the only child and have never been married, the women here are WAY too much trouble, and too materialistic..LOL!

Hello. I am interested in buying 5 of the Melco S-64-1's, as I think it may solve my 1A2 problem. We have an old house which has a ITT 601 and numerous 1A2 phones throughout. My wife and I think the old phones add character, and want to keep them. Problem is, we have a Lucent ACS system which we also want to use on the same 5 CO lines. I wired the 5 CO lines on the 1A2 into the ACS as single line extensions, which works great on the ACS side, and if someone is on the 1A2 phones, the Lucent lights go on indicating the line in use. Problem is if you are on the ACS phones, the 1A2 phones are dark. I am thinking the Melco S-64-1's might work here.

Yes, they will work for this, in fact that's what they are made for. I am not in the office today, but I will take care of getting them to you on Monday. I'll contact you then about payment, etc.

Yes, one unit will be required for each C.O. line,,,, Thanks ev. The Melco A/A1 lead detectors worked just fine with regular single line phones behind them. The termimal assignments for the Melco S64-1 are not on the diagrams, they are located underneath the terminal strip divider on the PC board etching. Here are the pin outs from top to bottom... 1. BAT B -24VDC Class 2 2. TIP IN 3. TIP OUT 4. RING IN 5. RING OUT 6. A OUT (to the A lead on the KTU) 7. GND B +24VDC Class 2 Thanks, -Stryder

Note on the Melco S64-1 loop detectors.
Remove any neon bulb/resistor ring indicator lamps on the loop side (TIP OUT / RING OUT).
Otherwise, when the line rings in, the ionization in the neon lamp causes DC voltage to pass as well and the S64-1 will give you a false A-lead detection. (Maybe a dioide can be used to block the DC voltage from passing thru the neon lamp).
