Can someone please tell me how to reset the time on my 2830 phones? Heck, I can't even find the display! smile John C. (Not Garand)

Press the Hold key & the transfer button down for 5 seconds. That will automatically activate the direct connection to the master clock in Greenwich, England. Then just hit the # key once for each hour you're past GMT.

On the ITT sets they were the little black button on the faceplate.

Send Sam his $100.00! smile Wish I'd gotten here first. The least you can do is split with me, Sam. After all, I did the setup! smile John C. (Not Gatand)

Silversam and Lightninghorse,

Not so fast there gentlemen... The little black button on an electromechanical 1A2 system's model 2830 keyset was called an "Operator Recall" button. When pressed by the keyset user, it performed a hookswitch flash.

Now, if the 2830 was connected to a 1A2 system that was connected to (behind a) PBX then yes that button, performing a hookswitch flash on the PBX extension, could ultimately be used for transferring a call (within the PBX) to another extension. This flash-to-transfer senario would also hold true if the 2830 was connected to a PBX system with built-in 1A2 keyset support, such as ITT's TD series.

Either way, the true function performed by the Operator Recall button was a hookswitch flash and not a transfer. Technically, transferring a call was not a function available within a 1A2 system, with which the 2830 is most truly associated.

So, I think I get to keep my $100! smile

Actually, with Centrex, (I know, C.O. PBX) you could transfer to any other associated location.
At any rate, "Picky, picky, picky". frown John C. (Not Garand)

Lightninghorse,

I almost mentioned Centrex. But, I figured I'd wait and see who decided to add that. But, as your "I know, C.O. PBX" comment acknowledges, the transfer function is still outside of the 1A2 system.

Well, at least I know you're awake... and having to rustle through the cobwebs of your mind as I did.
