OK,

I don't know why, but the ebay gods smiled on me and I picked up a black 1A2 2851 for just over $30. Receiver cord was missing, no big deal there.

So... I want to test it out. I got the cover off, and can see the amp. connector through the hole in the back.

But there's no way (I can see) to insert a male connector through the opening in the back and get it plugged into the female, at least not without a lot of force and some damage to either the connector or 2851 components.

Do I need to break the 2851 down some more?

Thanks!
- Matt

All,

N/M - I found the 2 screws by the hookswitch...

And... tada ... (sorry for the cell phone pic quality)

[Linked Image from img389.imageshack.us]

One question on this - the cover seems kinda loosey goosey at the top - are the hookswitch buttons all that hold it back, or am I missing something?

So, that's got the dining room covered, Standard rotary wall phone in the kitchen, 4 2565's in the living room, 1 in the office, need to put a 2565 in the spare bedroom and my master bedroom, another cuckoo clock in the recroom and garage, and one trimline each for the other 2 bathrooms

For a running total of:

3 2851's (Dining room, Rec room, Garage) - still need to conjur 2 (or more) 2851's.

7 2565's (Living room, Master bedroom, office, spare bedroom)

1 standard rotary wall phone (kitchen)

3 Trimlines (1 in each bath)

2 Payphone(s), 1 on the deck and 1 in the rec room.

16... I'm missing something somewhere. No worries... if there's a wall or a table, there's room for a 1A2.

Thanks -
Matt

There's only the screws on each side under the face plate that hold the cover on if that's what you mean.
