Forgot to post this pic a while back...this is all just abandoned on a wall in a phone room.
Two 25 pair cables lead from the blocks, one goes to a can with 2 blocks and one is cut off. No idea what kind of system it was.

The block looks like it was for an intercom system. The right hand stuff looks like relays for sompin.
They didn't abandon much.

It's been a very long time, but those relays look similar to the ones used on the Horizon systems to make an SLT out of the digital ports.

Sorry Tom smile
This building has 3 floors with at least 2 abandoned phone systems in each closet, and a lot of old cable.
Oh yeah, the date on the relays is 1974...the year my old man graduated from high school!

Now Jeff, are you saying that anybody who graduates high school in 1974 is an old man?

Last time I saw relays like that was in the late 70s at either a Leich 80 or a Hitachi 400. I can't remember which.

I think it was some kind of ring transfer arrangement with a manual switch by the attendant.

We had similar things like that. Used for power fail transfer when the board went down. The trunks would get tied to dedicated extensions when there was a power failure.

The old power failure switches I used to wire were much bigger and used wire spring relays. I mentioned Horizon because if you notice the R (ring) is a separate punching from the T&R, just like was done on the Horizon system to ring a SLT.
