WoW, that's a big move.

It sure is. I remember when Alcatel was just coming into the market with its digital cross connect switches, competing with the Lucent DACS IV. They were good, after the bugs were worked out. But who would have thought 10 years or so later they would be buying Lucent? Not me that's for sure.

Just another case of a company getting too big for their britches and the little guy comes along and gobbles them up.

Europeans run their companies a lot differently that US companies do. They are a lot more efficient and therefore, make a lot more money.

The proverbial tortise and hare.

So...does this mean that we can finally support that Alcatel system that one of our customers has (the only reason we can't support it is that we know nothing about it, cannot get into programming, etc.) In fact, we called India, France, parts of the US to find someone who could help...the were ready to have us rip it out and replace it with an Intertel system...to think we only went up there to replace amps for their paging system....
