spacesaver is a regular compact phone ,no internal bell was one way to save space

no battery

they have some collector value amount depends on which model , color and condition

The phone came without a ringer and a network. As I recall you needed an external box that contained both those items.

all the ones Ive seen had networks , just no ringer
(external ringer box's if needed )

without a network you just have a handset and hook switch

off course "space saver " covers a broad range

as I recall candlesticks and 202 had external ringer /network box's

WECO 212 "Hang-up-on-top" space saver sticks in my memory as no network as well as no ringer.

But It's a long time ago. You're probably right.

Now that you mention it, maybe the AE phones had the network?

Oy! My head hurts from all this.

We had AE 43 then 83 and finally the 183 they had networks but no ringer. The 183 space saver was very rare up here.

183 was the DTMF version, right? Probably rare because trimline type phones 'hit the market'. But, I still am trying to snag a spacesaver for the counter/work bench from an old hardware store that I have in the garage. No big hurry, the garage is FULL of stuff from 3 kids and trying to jam stuff from a 3000 sq ft house, not counting the basement or separate oversize 2-car garage, into a 1500 sq ft house with a 2-car garage, WITH NO BASEMENT! do not I repeat NEVER clean out your garage; it just allows a place for your kids to store their stuff. I speak from experience!
