hello all. I am a allworx dealer but have a big history with key systems. my problem has been with a allworx 6x proir running 7.0.3.1 upgraded after support told me to update to 7.0.8.1 issues is this/ we have 1- 3com 2 layer poe swith at 6x and one at data closet in office area the same- 3 com 24 port poe. fiber between 62.5mm . it was running fine now phones comming up regestration error, 2 ft phones ring and cant pick up sometimes, audio on some calls can hear one side. then clears up 5-10mins. and fine. We did have a power outage prior and system did shut down online. we at our cost installed a new 6x w/new compact flash and loaded existing program to this unit. Does the same thing. customer does have 3 Credit terminals in the back of three phones. running on its on network a 192.168.25.254 is the server.
error log on allworx says dhcp request 192.168.25.0 192.168.25.64 unavaiable yesterday there is no 25.64 that i see in dhcp. IT staff says not him, or switches. should we go to static IP address to wsome phones to see if this clears issues :bang: allworx has looked at program and said its ok. please help

I'll have to re-read your post again --- some of the stuff doesn't make sense to me--but it sure seems like it's a DHCP problem. I'd start to look there. It seems like some sort of a mix-up happening.

Who is your vendor?? Have you called them??

Have you fired up the old 6X to see if it is still doing what it was doing before?? It sounds like the original may have been OK.

The first thing we do with every Allworx installation is to assign a static IP to every platform, IP. We have had issues where the IT vendor gives us a IP address that is also in the DHCP scope, and that hasreated problems for us. Trust but verify - make sure that none of your IP addresses are in the DNCP range.

i think its not the old 6x either as the same problems follow.
as you suggesting we go with static ip addresses for each phone back to the allworx? and turn of DHCP?

This definitely smells of a vLan mis-configuration.

Are the phones with the problems attached to the 3com located in the closet, or is this network wide issue?
