Premises Not Ready Charge
Please be aware that as of December 1,the Verizon Telephone Companies will apply a charges when a Verizon technician is dispatched to a customers premises to provision a Verizon Tariff Special Access service and is unable to access the premises (for example where the customer is not present to let the technician in), or the premises are otherwise not ready to receive the serviced ordered. The charge will appear in the Other Charges and Credits (OCC) section of your bill with the reason for assessing the charge. The charge will be apply for the time the Verizon technician is at the premise, and will be charged at the tariff rates listed below.

- Basic Time (normal working hours), first half hour at $150 and each additional at $150
- Overtime Time (outside of scheduled normal hours),first half hour at $200 and each additional at $200
- Premium Time (non-scheduled work day), first half hour at $250 and each additional at $250
I have replied as follows:

Please be aware that in the event one of our customers calls Verizon on a repair issue, and Verizon tells the customer that the trouble is inside their premises, and the trouble is indeed not in the premises, Arthur P. Bloom, dba "Dial Tone Search & Rescue" will bill Verizon for the time our technician wasted verifying what Verizon failed to analyze.

Our rates are as follows:

$250 for the first half hour, and $250 per hour thereafter.

Saturdays, Sundays and Federal Holidays, $350 for the first half hour, and $350 for each hour thereafter.

These rates will double for the second visit to confirm the information we provide Verizon, in the event that we are sent a second time, and these rates will treble for the third time, etc.

An additional $128.50 per hour will be assessed to all of the above rates if the temperature is below 50 degrees F, or if the precipitation exceeds one drop per acre, during the time our technician is present at the customer's premises.

I think some of these issues are the LECs fault, for putting the NID/BET/MPOE or whatever in a basement. Most landlords lock their basements (esp with copper prices so high, heating pipes are easy to steal), so why have the NID down there. Kind of like how most of the utility power meters are in an accessible location for the meter readers (granted this is becoming moot point with the proliferation of "smart" meters).

I think the rate should be same on holidays also. Because on other days rates are 250 so why on holidays 350. so i requested to verizon phone system management to please maintain same rate on that days also.

Recently, our NP hours (Non Productive) have skyrocketed due to Verizon techs either showing up hours after the appointed time, not showing up at all or showing up and having no clue as to what or how to trouble shoot their problem. Even when we clearly demonstrate the problem is definitely a Verizon issue, we go back to the same customer, sometimes, 2 to 4 times, to basically wait for someone to actually fix the problem. It is VERY frustrating. Rcaman
