One site with 125 in house users, 4 work groups, 10 softphone users and 20+ work at home agents and about 30 routepoints.

Took me 4 days start to finish, including setting all stations and training the clients.

I expect to become more proficient, but for my first one I have to say I'm impressed with how easy it was to setup and implement.

This will definitely not be our last Shoretel sale.

Great to hear! We love it too. For the at home agents are you using Office Anywhere or VoIP telephones at the homes?

They already had Sonicwalls at their homes from the previous IP phone setup, so we are just using the standard 265 sets.

Shoretel has a nice, easy to use interface, but is very complex under the hood. You should see how many log files are generated in one day.

I just say this because as well as the system works, when things don't go exactly right, like an upgrade that went terribly wrong and the customer is completely down, you will really appreciated their tech support. I would encourage you to have your customers keep up on thier Shorecare.

I've been back once. Customer bought 30 additional 265 sets and has been adding them themselves here and there. Seems to be a pretty easy system for the client to admin.

I've got two more lined up for install before the end of the year.

On site putting in my 4th system. So far these have been pretty easy to implement.

Most have been over 50 users. Think I may create a setup cheat sheet.

One of the NEC support techs had a website and posted a lot of cheat sheets and useful material on it.

He went by the alias of "Mr. Stuff" because the websites were called "ivs2000stuff.com" etc...

He has left NEC and now works for ShoreTel.

I noticed you mentioned Sonicwalls. Do ShoreTel 'at home' phones require VPN, or can they deal with NAT transversal on there own??

I've always used a firewall/vpn.

Pretty sure it could be done, but I do not have the time or patience to figure it out.
I can setup a VPN connection in a firewall in less than 30 minutes and never have to mess with it again.
My experience with NAT on NEC phones tells me me to not even bother.

In Many cases VoIP doesn't always work well with NAT. Connecting a phone through the Internet is not supported. It would be very difficult to get this to work, if it was at all possible. There is a lot of communication between the phone and the Shoretel server and the voice switches. Even if you got trunk calls to work, intercom calling would be very unlikely.

You will need a VPN for the phones to work. They do have phones that can create their own VPN tunnel, but these require a Shoretel VPN concentrator on the system side to work.
