SBX customer hears digital sounds or squawks and or squeals when answering the phone. I have witnessed the digital sound. It seems random. I called 4 times and it was fine. I called again and I heard gibberish. I thought it might be the caller id, but first I waited two rings and still received the gibberish. And then I watched the LCD and it provided the caller id when the call rang the first time. I went to timers for system and CO. but I saw too many choices. I called tech, but of course they have never heard of the problem. I am behind a FIOS switch from Verizon. I haven't broken out the butt set yet but unless someone has some ideas I will go back to the site and do so.

To me it sounds like you are either hearing delayed caller id being sent from the carrier, or possibly a security alarm answering the line that has been improperly installed. I have been able to duplicate this before by dialing the main number, hanging up and immediately calling back in. It seems to trigger some of the alarm systems to answer. If the alarm is connected to the main number, this could be your problem. I don't believe it will be a problem with the SBX, but you could initialize, test, and reload to make sure. Good luck.

This gibberish lasts for just a short time I take it? If it lasts for the whole call you could have a Nation specific stetting that needs to be adjusted.

Yes, one person says it squawks when he answers an incoming call. Another said it sounds like digital gibberish when answered. I experienced the gibberish which quickly went away once the call was answered. Again, it doesn't happen every time. I haven't been back to the site yet because I think I will have to set enough time to just sit on the line with a buttset and a phone to track it down. I was just hoping it was a setting I could play with. Oh well,

You could try adjusting the CO Ring-On timer to be a bit longer.
