This input is coming from an end user.....me.
I have some specific problems with the X16. I have been using this system for almost a year. Would I buy it again? Probably Not unless they made specific changes to the system.

1) Some of the phones have problems with lights not working. Different phones, different problems.

2) If you are on a specific line for an extended period of time (10 minutes or more, you can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear you and you must put the phone on hold and then push the line again. This happens frequently.

3) Also the nagging beep which sounds like call waiting is annoying when you have multiple incoming calls which sometimes causes you to miss what the caller is saying.

4) The handsets are not comfortable on your face if you spend a lot of time on the phone especially the ear area.

5)Sometimes it is hard to hear the caller even when the volume is turned up. Sometimes it sounds choppy and you miss some of what the caller is saying and have to repeat it back to the caller to be sure you get the correct information.

I rate these phones fair.

1. Are they all on the same phone port?

2. Same question and if so what is the total feet of cable in both scenarios?

3. That's been corrected with the new phones and you can get yours upgraded for a nominal fee.

4. If you're using it for an extended period of time why not use a headset plugged into the supplied headset jacks?

5. Same question as 1&2

Was this system put in by a phone tech or did you install it yourself? Problems can also be caused by the phone port having excess un-terminated wire on them.

EDIT: Correction on number 3. There's an option to turn it off, not that it's been corrected.

........and some of the problems you are talking about....chopping and line fade....could be your VoIP-provided line.

Lynster, I would have a tech come out and check your installation. This system requires good installation practices. Justbill is absolutely correct on 1&2. It's also slightly possible a single telephone might affect up to three others in this system. A technician can rapidly isolate this issue.

Thanks guys for all the help, I am going to call the company who installed the system. As you can tell I am not the best at figuring out all this, sometimes I need to be reminded that I need to rely on other people who are skilled and not always try to do it myself. I'll let you guys know what happens. Headset might work for times when I have long calls. Thanks to Everyone!

We haven't heard back from him on his other post either,so it must be the installing company that has failed him.

Reviewing Lynster's postings tells us that the "installing company" spent all of 1 hour to install this system and provided a whole 5 minutes of training.

Any system is terrible to use anytime a poor installer gets involved. But I'm preaching to the choir here.

I have had problems like this on the 45p, but not the X-16. That's a solid system.
