Does anyone know if Avaya still supports the 4400 series in 8.x and will they continue to support it?

Yes they do according to the product update but as with all the IP500 hardware only on expansion modules.

Avaya just ended support for the 64xx phones. My guess is that you have maybe a year left of support for the 44xx sets.
