I have a customer that went from analog trunks to a Comcast PRI. Experiencing bad static and popping sounds on calls. Only the outside party hears it.
Customer has iDCS 100 R1, Added a PRI card, dip switches 1,2,8 are on. Replaced PRI card and defaulted system with no change. Comcast says it's the equipment. I'm going back and replacing both cabinets tomorrow. Anyone seen this? Thanks?

If all else fails, try to get a Comcast tech on the phone and put a loopback on the circuit so he can test end to end through it. That will prove whether it's a good t-1 or not.

Sounds like clock slippage on Comcast's side. They've been having it a lot lately, not sure what they did with their IADs. You might have them verify that their equipment is set to provide clocking. If it is and you're still getting the problem see if they will turn it off, then flip switch 4 on the pri card to make it provide clocking.

Comcast tech was on site yesterday and confirmed PRI good to phone system. Im going back today with a spare 100 system and see what I can find. Maybe a bad slot on the expansion cabinet?

If the problem is apparent only to outside callers, I'd still suspect the carrier is having an issue. Can you do test calls to people you know are also Comcast subscribers to see if the problem exists on their network only, or does it only occur when calls go to another carrier's network?
Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.

Swapping the cabinet may be necessary but a waste of time.
If you have a spare co card, put that in and borrow a dial tone.
CLECs don't necessary try to lie, they mostly just don't know how to test.

Well folks it turned out to be a bad expansion cabinet or at least the slot for the PRI. I checked the pins on the backplane but they were'nt bent. Thanks all for your help.
