I have a CS5200 w/8662. Has anyone else experienced a tone over the speaker and handset? This happens occasionally. Sounds like a key on the dial pad is stuck down. Only you hear it in the handset and not the outside caller. The only way to clear it is to reset the phone.

Make sure the firmware on the 8662 phone is v2.0.10 and boot code v2.0.9
and your 5200 is 1.2.5.135. which is release 12.

Hi Plunger
Did you solve your problem? I am having the same issue. I found a thread on inter-tel website and upgrade to the latest firmware on the IP Endpoints and also to be sure upgrade the software on the 5000 also. Didn't help . The High pitch noise as describe by customer are like "when someone died in the hospital". you know the beep.beep.beepbeepbeep!!!

I wanted to added that the "noise" happened with and without handset/headsets. It started when the people picked up the handset or when they answer an incoming call. I am wondering if it's the PRI itself. Maybe I should replace the T1 card and see? Again, it happened just out of the blue 2 weeks ago and is getting worse. Any ideas would be appreciated!
