I just need to completely wipe the devices of any currently stored information. The most glaring problem is that I cannot get either device to open a terminal on my computer, a windows 7 64-bit machine, either through the onboard com1 or com2 ports, or usb adapter I have. I'm using putty, and it just wont open a terminal with them.
The TVS120's power LED is also flashing on and off, don't know if that means anything the D1232's is solid red.
Does anyone have any tips on getting the terminal open, and how to factory reset them from there? Thanks.

Get and read the manuals. There are no USB ports on either unit. You need a DOS program to talk to the TD1232. It can be initialized without a Terminal. It's laid out in the manual. The TVS has a com port that Hyper-terminal works fine with. Basic setting is 9600, 8,N, 1. You may need a null modem cable. The TVS also can be initialized without a terminal, that also is in the manual. Can't put in the forum.

I have the manual for the TVS120, the section on initializing it looks like its all done through terminal. I tried a different PC with a confirmed working COM port and I still can't get it to connect. This model's power light is flashing on and off, does that mean anything? Why aren't I able to get any computers to see this thing? Thanks.

https://voiceprocessor.info/Wade through this and the sponsoring company's websites long enough and you'll find instructions to initialize both units without using a terminal. It's much easier to do it that way anyway...

Out of curiosity, doesnt the 9 digit rotary switch initialize the 120 by powering it on with it turned to 8?
And for the D1232, pushing the switch to the "clear" position and hitting the reset button? Thanks again.
