Good day,

I have followed the directions for setting up the email gateway, to the point where it does "successfully" log on to the email system. However, now it gives me the error message:

"Open Default Message Store failed (hResult=80040111)"

I cannot figure out where to go next. I am using Axxess 5.119 with NT Visualmail, trying to interface with an Exchange 2003 server. Is there anything I need to do to make it work?

Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: I got it working...for a few minutes. I am unfortunately unsure about what made it work. I had just run a backup, and then when it came out of backup mode, it initialized correctly. A few minutes later, the server stopped responding and I had to reboot. Once it came back up, it was broken again.

Someone please help!!! This is driving me crazy!

Sooo, in the E-mail gateway section in the voicemail, you should have SMTP selected for the E-Mail System, your mail server programmed for yer SMTP server, Voice Mail as yer Real Name and [email protected] as the username. If you are trying to use Unified Messaging, the individual mailboxes need to have that enabled, and the client s/w installed.

If that doesn't work, try to telnet to yer mail server from the voicemail server on port 25. If you can successfully connect, then SMTP is running on yer mail server. If you cannot send mail in this fashion (you will need to Google 'SMTP telnet commands' if you don't know them), then likely SMTP is not running or you are running Secure SMTP. In that case you will need to setup a voicemail account on yer mail server like any other user, then program yer e-mail gateway w/ those settings.

Thanks for the reply...but I'm trying to use MAPI since I have an exchange server that all my mail runs through. Any input on that?

Exchange supports SMTP natively. Do you want to use MAPI for some specific reason?
