I am trying to figure out how to program the Axxent Talk system so that when callers get into our voicemail, they can dial by name....it is set-up but we have new employees and no manual... UGH Can anyone help this damsel in distress? TIA -Darzam

Do you have the Database Programming Software and Programming Cable on your PC? Or have you been programming through the Phone?

Nothing on my PC, I have changed extensions (display) etc through the phone, never had to program the admin side of VM

Is there a way to make changes to the dial by name Talk feature through the admin phone itself?

The Spell By Name Directory Feature looks at the Description Field programmed in Station Programming of the Database. To my knowledge it can only be programmed using a PC running proprietary Software and connected to the Axxent using a serial cable. It is not the same as the Username Field that is programmed through the phone.
Having said that, I think you will need to contact the company that installed the system to send a Tech out to change the Station Descriptions for you.
