Have a customer that has a couple of odd problems that may or may not be related: voicemail locks up at random, and usually (but not always) when we try to log into programming which causes the system to reset. If we get into programing, the only way to pull a database is to busy out the PRI. It is impossible to pull error logs - system resets. System is a Axxess 128 running 5.2F2 software. Voicemail is an eight port OS/2 box (5.2F9) and has been swapped out. New hard drive - messages and greetings were copied over. This morning we swapped out the CPU 550.2010 with a CPU with expanded memory (550.2017). And.... surprise, surprise. Same issues with getting into programming and pulling errors. Odd, but when we can get to error logging, we can get a log when we only pull eith reset log or device info. Pulling history queue and message print resets system instantly. Ideas or suggestions? We are pulling out hair on this one. Thanks.

Have you tried running your saved databse through the test and repair program?

Great suggestion. Test / repair was done before we swapped out CPU's. And surprise, no issues found or repaired (and that is almost unheard of in my experience). This one is driving us crazy.

How many voice ports and T-1 channels? Have you tried connecting at a low baud rate that you can retreive error logs?
It is possible that the system has a device that is causing the PBX to 'freak out'. You could try unplugging all the amphenols one-by-one to see if a device is causing this problem. I had a bad fone cause a new system to completely shut down every time you plugged in the fone.

8 voice and 23 PRI channels. We're going to try slowing down baud rate and then the amphenols. Great suggestion. Thank you.

Does it reset if you monitor the message print port? If you have one of the ports set for message print, monitor it while you try and log into programming with a different port with a different laptop. Just throwing more options if all else fails.

Haven't tried that. Will give it a shot. More options are great. Hopefully we can get back into the site first of the week. I'll keep updating. Thanks for the help!

Which RS232 port is the VM plugged into? I found one once that was plugged into the OPC card, locked up whenever I pulled error logs or tried a db backup.

Com 2 on CPU on both CPU's whe have installed. Having some difficulty with customer cooperation at continuing the testing process at this time. (System is up - stay away. Gotta love um.)
