I must be missing a small part on the programming. I have a doctors office that doesnot want to use voice mail, but wants auto answer. All he wants is to have the office hours on a message when people call in at lunch and after hours. I know there are 2 builtin auto answer ports and programmed them to answer the incoming calls as per the feature and specs manual. When I try to get record the messages using *8 I can not record a greeting. If I call into the system the auto attendent does answer the call and there is the generic message on the unit. Am I using the wrong access code to make the changes. I have a second unit on the bench to see where I am missing it. Any thoughts.

i would say that the handset your are trying to record the greeting from does not have access to the VRS(if that is what the auto answer is using) in class of service, you need to check ths first for the class of service if VRS record/erase/delete has been allowed for that extension you are trying it from

you need to let us know how the calls are setup in 22-02

are they going to a ring group and then in 22-14 its using VRS there?
Are the lines set as a DIL to a virtual then this has a mailbox?

A bit more info would be good and then we can assist you.

Default for VRS is dial 616, dial 7 to record, dial 001, or 002 , or 003 etc

That is it, thank you. Is this information in a manual some where. We have been looking through all of the manuals and have not been able to find it.
