I am using WebPro on my SV8100 with full access. I have logged in as both necii and tech and have not been able to get programming changes accepted. I get a pop up that any character can be entered. This happens when putting a name on an extension or going into the inmail smtp setup and changing the server name. My main objective is to get the voicemail message notification working to email. But I think there are other issues keeping me from making program changes. Any help would be appreciated.

What browser are you using? What security settings do you have with the browser? does this occur from all other computers? Did it ever work in the past? What does your Vendor have to say? what happens when you use PCPro? can you post exactly what the pop-up says?

Thanks fro teh questions. I was using Chrome but after reading your reply tried IE and now I am able to save my changes.
Let me see if that fixes my email notification issue now that I was able to save the changes.
It has worked in the past, Do not have an active vendor at the moment. I do not have PCPro, just the web interface.

Very strange, I finished the settings for smtp and pop server in the inmail. Called an extension and left a message to test and a few minutes later the system shutdown.

Chrome has a bug in it that causes this.(actually I think its more like the NEC webserver has a bug) Use IE or Firefox..

Wonder why NEC never asked Google to fix it as this impacts on other web browsers based on Chrome like the Opera Next versions.

Actually it's not only NEC that has these issues with other browsers other than IE. The reason the other browsers run faster is that they gimp their instruction set. IE has the complete instruction set with compatibility modes for earlier versions of IE. Other browsers lack these and do so on purpose because most people don't need them.

The shutdown comes from a bug on the NEC side it will need to be upgraded. What version you have running?

I really appreciate all the help. Once I used IE my changes were recognized. My system kept cycling a reset until I unplugged the network from it. Once loaded it continued to operate. I left it unplugged for 24 hours and just now reconnected it.
My software version is 08.00 and ProServ is 1.03.0opipk
I am still not sure if the inmail is working to send voice mail notification to email That is were if started cycling offline the other day.
I will try again and see what happens.
Bill, let me know about that update you think I may need.
