Trying to put a MOX 16 station expansion on a MICS with 6.1. I have a fiber expansion card in the mic. The fiber MOX won't boot. I get a red flashing light that never stops flashing.the MIC starts up ok. Any ideas? Thanks.

I will assume that your expansion card was already in system.
and in the 2nd slot from the left ( which is also the 3rd slot from the right)
Which port did you plug the Module into? 3, 4, ?

Did you program that port for a station module?
Once fiber cables connected - you might want to disable that port then re-enable. Of course you do have a Phone connected to the Module before you re-enable - right?
And after enabled - wait at least 8-10 min before you give up.

Fiber cord is in port 4. I did not have a station connected before. Connected a set and rebooted the MOX only. Waited 15 minute and still no change.

DO NOT LOOK INTO THE END OF THE FIBER CABLE.
But check for red light coming out of each end of fiber.
Shine it on the cabinet. (or if you have a spare, try it)
You did not say that you disabled the port then re-enable.
But maybe you did do that.

Sound like maybe you do have a bad cabinet.
Just for kicks, program port 4 for a trunk module then change it back to station.

The fiber expansion card and MICS were not part of the same system. I'm trying to put them together for another project.

I forgot to disable and re-enable the station module. Will have to do that tomorrow. Thanks for now NT.

There is a spare fiber cord, but it didn't help. I'll have to try shining the red light from the cord. I did notice that both ports from the expansion card had a red light coming from the connector port.

In Maintenance, it says the card is StnMod, so it appears to recognize that much. But when I disable, then enable, it says the slot is empty.

Oops, just realized I didn't have a phone plugged in to that module this morning for my disable/enable.

And should I reboot the whole MICS, or is just the MOX enough?

Thanks.
Jim

To cover all things, do this.

Connect phone to module.
Module is connect to system
Disable port for module
Change module to Trunk Module in programming.
Get out of programming.
Change module back to station in programming.
Enable port for module.
Give at least 5 min - (no more than 10)
If still does not work then you have a bad unit or something else bad.

You might try another port - try 5 and do same process as above.

If doing this live, I always disable the port that I disconnect the fiber from or going to before making the change.

FYI MOX is not a term.
M0X16 is generally called 0X16 or Station Module

The 0X16 has a defective power supply when the light flashes like that....sometimes you also here clicking.
