We installed a coupkle of SIP trunks for ourselves on a 7100 and installed a bunch on a customer 7200S.
They seem to work reasonably well, however, when an outgoing SIP call connects to something that requires DTMF entries, the systems we're connected to don't seem to hear the DTMF properly. I've talked at length with the provider, I've talked at length to support. And of couse it's no one's fault.
I test it by using our SIP, placing a call into our POTS line, being transferred to VM. At this point when I try to enter #0000, the VM ignores or tells me an invalid blah, blah blah.
Happens to me and my customer. Any soutions?

Have you played around with DTMF type in menu 2.1.5, usually it should be set to Inband RFC2833.

Try setting ISDN PROGCON to Yes in MMC 210.

It sounds like a DTMF setting.
I have had 1 case where i had to set to RFC2833 (mute) on an old MGI card in a OS7200.

Are you using OAS cards or just embedded MGI?

What version of software are the systems?

What do you see on a wireshark trace?

My system is V 4.65
I have a copy of wireshark installed but I haven't a clue as to how to use it.
I've looked on line for some tutorials on sip troubleshooting with wireshark but haven't found one that relates to this situation.

Changed the codec from G.729 ( default ) to G.711A

Everything works like a charm.
